October 1, 2013 - Satellites are transferring a growing amount of information, with suppliers of satellite communications (satcom) hardware being asked to deliver higher-performance, innovative subsystem solutions. MITEQs response has been the development of outdoor Ku- and Ka-band block frequency downconverters and upconverters capable of handling multiple wide bandwidths within a single converter unit. These rugged, antenna-mounted assemblies can work with two or three intermediate-frequency (IF) signals across bandwidths as wide as 0.95 to 2.45 GHz and upconvert them to one composite broadband RF output either in Ku or Ka band. Conversely, with the downconverter, a composite Ku-band signal from 10.70 to 12.75 GHz or Ka-band signal from 27.0 to 31.0 GHz or 17.7 to 22.0 GHz is downconverted into two or three independent IF signals. The new MITEQ multicarrier converters are available in a variety of configurations to help system architects achieve reliable, high-performance levels in satcom hub terminal applications.


September 11, 2013 - Intelliconnects Cable Assembly Division has successfully completed its move into new premises at the brand new, state of the art Corby Enterprise Centre. Former Rhophase Production Manager, Arden Lawson, who is heading up the project commented, "this is a truly excellent facility which will enable us to continue producing our affordable, high quality cables". As well as producing high frequency microwave cables, the Corby plant will be focused on producing High Spec. Triaxial assemblies and semi-rigids as well as the standard RG/LMR type products.

August 28, 2013 - SMS have recently undertaken a form, fit and function replacement design exercise for a wideband image reject mixer design, no longer available from the original manufacturers. The design, although formerly supplied by more than one well known microwave company is used on a significant on-going programme. The original product had followed the fate of many others, being made obsolete as a result of rationalisation when heritage companies either go out of business or combine with others and change their market focus.

July 2, 2013 - MITEQs SAFSW Series of K-Band Waveguide Amplifiers offer very low noise figure [1.25 dB @+25°C from 18 to 21 GHz] operation in extreme airborne environments. An integral transmit band filter can also supply 60 dB minimum of rejection at 30 GHz. MITEQs design can be powered by either +12 to +15 VDC or +5 VDC for minimum power dissipation. DC power can also be supplied over the RF coaxial outdoor connector for use in high signal strength environments where EMI is a concern. Integral RF input limiter protection is also available as well as various flange and mounting options.

The certfication was done by SP which is a Certification Body, accredited by SWEDAC, for certification of quality management systems in Sweden.




April 2, 2013 - New Diamond V-FT Vacuum Feedthrough solution. Diamond proposes vacuum feedthrough V-FT solutions, for a large range of optical fiber and adapters, using an epoxy sealing technology. V-FT integrates a standard 2.5mm ferrule permanently sealed in a standard CF flange with a variety of adapters. The obtained feedthrough benefits from a very low leak rate. It can be ordered for many types of fiber, including SM, MM, PM, PS, large core MM and others. Multi-channels systems are also available using standard CF building block elements.
The standard V-FT comes in a CF DN16 size flange with a one meter long connectorized pigtail on the vacuum side. The standard atmospheric interface is based on FC flange. Other interfaces such as DIN LSA/AVIM, Mini-AVIM, and Diamond’s MAS universal system which allows for additional flanges and MAS adapters allows for fast turnaround and easy modularity for connector choice. V-FT is ideal for vacuum chambers commonly used in the micro-electronic industries, medicine and in research and development.

March 15, 2013 - Read the new application note from APEX Technologies! The application note describes the utility of the High Resolution Optical Spectrum Analyzer (HR OSA/OCSA) in measuring and adjusting the optical spectrum of Optical Frequency Comb Source (OFCS), a promising source for WDM-PON and even for OFDM-PON which brings the low cost, the simplicity and the wavelength stability. The document shows the capacity of the APEX High resolution OSA to show clearly all the Optical Comb sidebands even with a few tens of MHz spacing. February 15, 2013 -The IVX-1100 is the first InnoSenT K-Band Transceiver with angular resolution. The smart antenna concept offers the customer the possibility to choose between 7 different squint angles. This allows to observe e.g. 6 different lanes in the field of traffic monitoring without extensive DSP - work! The sensor can be used like a standard CW - Transceiver. November 30, 2012 - The new iSYS-4001 radar from InnoSent has three user configurable triggers. Each of the triggers can be set to look for objects at a configurable distance with a certain speed. The triggers can easily be used to trigger other events, like switching a lamp or an alarm. The iSYS-4001 can also report speed, range and detected signal level of up to five objects to a PC or some processor. The iSYS-4001 covers ranges from 0.3 to 50m, and speeds from 0.2 km/h up to 250 km/h. Download the full data sheet here.
